Medical team from Egypt arrives in South Sudan capital

A team of ten Egyptian medical doctors arrived in South Sudan’s capital Juba on Tuesday to assist in conducting surgeries at Juba Teaching Hospital.

A team of ten Egyptian medical doctors arrived in South Sudan’s capital Juba on Tuesday to assist in conducting surgeries at Juba Teaching Hospital. 

Dr. Sharif Isaac, the head of the Egyptian medical team, said they came on a missionary work of the Egyptian Orthodox Church in order assist South Sudan in the medical field, saying the team will be in Juba for a period of a week.

Director of Accidents and Emergency Department at the hospital Abraham Adut said in a press statement that the visiting medical team will conduct operations as of Tuesday.

The South Sudanese doctor said the Egyptian government has supported the team’s travel to South Sudan to carry out complex procedures.
