Renk County in Upper Nile has received medical aid supplies estimated at 20 tonnes recently, according to Director of Health Services Chol Ayak.

Ayak told Radio Tamazuj Monday that the support package was not offered by the National Ministry of Heath, but rather was donated by Renk County Commissioner Lual Deng Chol.

The director did not provide more details about where they got support. He said however that the support could help bridge the health service gap in the county.

The current crisis affected the health sector in Renk County. The Renk civil hospital has not been functional for several months. This was aggravated by a shortage of drug and doctors.

In the absence of government health services, aid organization Medair is active providing healthcare in the county.
