Measles cases reported in south-eastern Darfur

Five people are said to have died due to measles disease in Assalaya Locality of East Darfur State.

State Director of Expanded Immunization Program (EPI) Ahmed Daifat revealed that his directorate have received reports of up to 60 cases of infection.

He stressed that his administration has sent a delegation to determine the size of the spread of this disease.

The official pointed out that the results of the samples that have been tested were normal and dismissed its serious impact.

Citizens from Assalaya area reported the death of 5 people the day before yesterday, while the director for immunization department acknowledged the death of only one person.
