The fire is said to have started at 11:00 am.

Mustafa Omar, a Sudanese trader at the camp, told Radio Tamazuj that his shop was also affected by the morning inferno.

“I saw the market burning when I was taking a shower in the morning,” he said.

Omar pointed out that about 50 shops burnt to ashes.

According to the traders, the cause of the fire is still unknown.

Francis, a South Sudanese refugee at the camp, confirmed the fire consumed several shops.

No firefighters arrived at the scene to help put out the fire.

No causalities have been reported in the incident.
