A 37-year-old South Sudanese woman was gang-raped by unidentified gunmen at Al-Salam residential area in Wau town in South Sudan’s Wau State on Friday.
The victim who preferred anonymity told Radio Tamazuj that masked gunmen attacked her house and gang-raped her in front of her children at night.
“The incident happened at night, those people came and broke into my house, and I was sleeping together with all my children. They asked me to give them money, but I told them that I didn’t have money, so they decided to rape me,” she said.
The rape victim pointed out that she opened a case with the police and that she also went to a medical doctor who confirmed the rape by the gunmen.
In the past two weeks, a woman was found dead after being raped at gunpoint by unknown gunmen in Al-Salam residential area.
