A fire broke out in Aweil market of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State yesterday resulting in the injury of one child and loss of properties.

Eyewitnesses at the market told Radio Tamazuj that the fire broke out in one of the shops during the day and spread to nearby shops. The child suffered a burn on his hand. There were also properties lost including two generators and a number of sacks of groundnuts.

Witnesses added that authorities rushed to scene off the fire and managed to control it, limiting losses.
