Mariam Tito, the sub-chief of Hai Gabat area of Maridi Central Boma passed away on Monday morning at Maridi Civil Hospital after suffering for two days from typhoid, according to a family member.
The younger sister to the late Botul Tito explained that last week on Saturday her late sister was very fine and even went to the farm to plant her maize and cassava. But when she came from the farm she started complaining of general body pain.
She says late Mariam was then rushed to the nearby clinic for treatment but her situation kept on deteriorating.
The deputy speaker of Maridi State Assembly Martin Mudir described the death of late Mariam as a big blow to the government of Maridi State. He says Mariam Tito was one of the active women and also a voice of women in Maridi County.
Mariam Tito started serving as the sub-chief for Hai Gabat since April 2004.
She is survived by her husband and eight children. The family did not provide information about the age of the late sub-chief.
