The governor of South Sudan’s Maridi state has called on citizens to unite their ranks for the sake of peace and stability in the state.

Addressing a crowd of citizens on the occasion of the sixth independence anniversary at Chanambia Square, Governor Africano Monday emphasized the importance of unity among the people of his state.

Joseph Sika, a youth representative in the state, said local youth will stand with the state government at all levels for the sake of peace and prosperity.

However, Joseph called on the government to provide opportunities for youth in the areas of education and agriculture so they can realize self-reliance.
