Members of the Maridi Civil Society Forum last week participated in a training on policy advocacy and engagement.
The 4-day training which concluded on Saturday was organized and funded by World Vision International in Maridi State, culminating in a six-month targeted advocacy work plan.
Speaking at the end of the training, the director of Maridi Women Association Sarah Bent Gugu said the training was essential in highlighting the role of CSOs in policy advocacy dialogue with state and local authorities for effective coordination of their work.
“We take this opportunity to thank World Vision International for its vital technical and financial support for the civil society in Maridi State. We call on them and other development partners to continue supporting the work of the civil society in the state,” she urged.
Sarah further acknowledged the state government’s efforts to provide a conducive civic space for civil society to conduct its activities in the state.
She encouraged all civil society members to remain committed to the advocacy plan and the broader work of the civil society in the state.
