The Community Empowerment for Progress Organization in Juba is gathering monthly reports of incidents concerning members of the media. Here are all the reported incidents for March 2015:
On March 5, Yei police officers warned a journalist for regular coverage of public issues, including reporting on rape, local revenue and the performance of counselors.
On March 10, national security officials in Bor told a journalist not to cover a story about Uganda army activities.
On March 11, Nimule national security officials warned journalists not to cover unlawful arrests that are taking place in Eastern Equatoria State.
On March 14, journalists working for the state-owned television station, SSTV, were arrested by national security.
On March 18, in Juba, national security officials threatened to arrest a freelance journalist who was following up a story on the Wau police strike.
On March 30, national security officials blocked the Juba Monitor from printing for publishing an article about the Ugandan army.
