Mangartong commissioner takes oath of office, says unity top priority

The newly appointed commissioner of Mangartong County in South Sudan’s Aweil East state has taken oath of office last week.

Kerubino Makuac Kuol was appointed by Governor Deng Deng Akuei as the new commissioner of the area whose status has been upgraded to the level of county.

The new commissioner told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that he accepted the call by the community to serve in the current capacity with the objective to unite the people of the area.

“The first thing I would put much efforts is to try to unite our people so that they live in peace and harmony.  There is nothing to gain from disunity. Nothing to gain to hatred and bitterness but there is much to gain from working together.  When people work together they achieve a lot of things because two heads are better than one. They look far and act fast,” said Makuac.
