Authorities of Yirol town of Lakes State have confirmed that a man identified as Majur Majok was killed on Christmas Eve by unknown people in Yirol Town on Thursday morning.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the director-general of health in the defunct Eastern Lakes who now works in Yirol hospital, Dr. Marial Chuer Khoc, confirmed that the body of late Majier Majok who was killed by unknown people was taken to the hospital for postmortem examination.
"We have made a postmortem examination and we found out that the deceased was killed by not less than three to five people. His body was found on the ground and was full of dust and his clothes were torn apart by the people who were struggling to kill him," Dr. Marial said.
He said more details about the death will not be reported to the media but will be put in an envelope and the judge will be the one to receive it during his ruling on the cause of death.
"We carried out a postmortem examination and we also found there are some bruises on the deceased’s left side,” Dr. Marial said.
The secretary-general of defunct Eastern Lakes, Barnaba Mayor Deng, confirmed the killing and
said the deceased was travelling from Mapuordit Payam and this is where he met his fate.
"The deceased was not shot, there are no bullets found in his body so he might have been beaten by criminals with wooden sticks," Mayor Deng said.
