Authorities are investigating after a man was last week shot while working on his farm in Mvolo County of Western Equatoria State. He died immediately from his wounds.
Isaac Togule, the County Executive Director, told Radio Tamazuj on Saturday the deceased, only identified as Koruo, was killed by unknown assailants at about 9:00 am on Friday.
He said the incident happened in Korokue village. Isaac suspects the attacker had come from neighboring Lakes State.
The local official urged authorities at the state and national levels to intervene to prevent further loss of civilians' lives and properties. He appealed to communities in the area to desist from the practice of revenge killings and protect their land and properties.
In April, at least 10 people were killed in Mvolo when an armed group attacked a cattle camp in the area.
