Man killed in Ikotos county, suspect at large

A 27-year-old man was shot dead by his friend during a drunken fight in Ikotos County of Eastern Equatoria State on Tuesday night, officials said.

A 27-year-old man was shot dead by his friend during a drunken fight in Ikotos County of Eastern Equatoria State on Tuesday night, officials said.

Ikotos county police crime officer Olur Dominic Alosio told Radio Tamazuj that initial reports indicate that the two men were drinking alcohol after working at a farm in Lobile village when they quarreled. 

“Yesterday at 7:32 pm there was a murder case reported at a police station in Lobile village, Momoria Boma under Ikotos Central Payam. The deceased called Marino Loreng Lomorwo, 27 years old was killed by Oyyo Osuru Idwang and we have not caught him. We are still searching," he explained.

He pointed out that investigations have been launched into the real cause of misunderstanding and a search for the suspect has begun. 

Dominic warns residents against excessive consumption of alcohol saying it could lead to accidental deaths.

“Alcohol should not be taken to the extent of killing each other like that, it is not right. You may have right to drink but not to cause crimes," he added. 

Warrant officer Gabriel Akom Arok, the acting police inspector of Ikotos County confirmed the incident and said the police will apprehend the culprit.
