One person was confirmed dead in Abyei after he was attack by a motorbike hijacker.

The incident took place at Noon market in Abyei North on Friday evening.

“I heard that the one who was stabbed to death was selling his bike and the person who killed him make himself like he was buying," a source said.

"They had reached their own agreement and told the owner of the bike to carry him to go to where he has left the money. While on the way he removed a knife and stabbed him just like that and ran away with a bike."

The victim was rushed to a nearby health facility but died of knife wounds, the source said.

Police are investigating the incident.
