Man commits suicide in Juba after wife left him for another lover

A middle-aged man on Monday morning committed suicide in Juba city over what sources described as family problems. The man’s body was found hanging from a tree near Jebel Kujur, a suburb west of the South Sudanese capital, Juba.

Two members of the man’s family reportedly fainted after hearing the news. Police officers arrived at the scene after the incident.

The deceased’s elder brother said his brother hanged himself over misunderstanding with his wife. He pointed out that prior to the incident, the man found his wife talking on the phone with another man.

“He took the phone from the wife and talked to the caller who told him that he was in love with the wife,” said the elder brother.

He explained that his brother left his residence in Hai Mouna on Sunday evening shortly after he found out that his wife was in love with another man.

The deceased, who was working at Juba Airport, left behind a two-month-old baby.
