Renk residents on Friday woke up to the rude shock of a 20-year-old man who had hanged himself near Renk School.

Brig. Gen. Abdel Aziz Diing Ngor, the deputy police commissioner in Renk, told Radio Tamazuj that police went to the crime scene and started legal procedures.

He said police would investigate the circumstances that led to the incident, urging families to monitor the behaviors of their children.

Meanwhile, Daniel Odok, director of Renk Civil hospital, said the unidentified man’s lifeless body was found hanging from a tree.

For his part, the deceased’s father said his son had been suffering from a mental illness.
