Authorities in Rumbek Central County in Lakes State have confirmed that a suspect identified as Arang-rang Mayor Dut was last week apprehended for beheading a 13-year-old boy.
The suspect allegedly attacked, beat up, and cut off the head of the minor, Debit Buong Mabor, last Tuesday in Adulduol Village in Rumbek Central County.
Rumbek Central County Commissioner Dut Manak told Radio Tamazuj over the weekend that Arang-rang Mayor was arrested in a village in Cit-cok Payam after a long search in the remote villages of War-chol.
“I want to inform the people of Rumbek Central County that there was an incident that took place last Tuesday in Aduolduol village where someone came and found a 13-year-old boy in the house and immediately started beating the minor,” he said. “After the boy fell, the attacker slaughtered the boy and ran away. I went with security forces and we looked for him for the whole day but failed to find him that day. We continued the search the next day and apprehended him from Cit-cok Payam.”
Commissioner Manak said the suspect was handed over to Cueibet County police for further investigation because he had killed people in that jurisdiction before.
“When he was caught, we transferred him to Cueibet County where he is now detained,” he revealed. “Before this latest incident, he killed three people in Cueibet County and escaped to Rumbek. He will be investigated for the latest and previous murder cases.”
Meanwhile, the police director of the Criminal Investigations Department in Cueibet County, Henry Manoric Thok, confirmed that they are holding Arang-rang Mayor.
“He killed people in Cuiebet and ran to Rumbek Central County where he also killed a boy,” he said. “He was pursued and apprehended and is now in here in custody.”
