Angac Akot Yak, the county commissioner of the newly created Malual Baai in Aweil East State says he has received drugs donation from the national ministry of health and other health practitioners in Juba.
The commissioner was on his official visit in Juba where he lobbied for assistance to curb malaria cases in his county.
“So the issues of diseases should not leave to health workers alone and the reason I went to Juba and lobbied from friends and higher authorities in Juba for help and indeed I was given malarial drugs, such as antibiotic, antimalarial and others. These drugs will treat over one thousand patients,” Akot stated.
“Because I’m the eye and security of my people in my county and I have seen by myself that health facilities have no medicines so this is the reason I should struggle for their wellbeing,” he said.
He pointed out that the medicines have been officially handed over to the acting minister of health who then delivered them to the county facility.
He said these drugs will provide treatment to the population of his county as well as people from the neighbouring counties of Gogrial state.
