Angac Akot Yak, commissioner of Malualbaai County in Aweil East of Northern Bahr el Ghazal, says those calling for cancelation of president Salva Kiir’s proposal to create 28 states in South Sudan should explore ways to implement the decision not to agitate against it.
“I have come and I have taken oath of office and now I am in the headquarters of the county. I am in Malualbaai right now, which is a sign that shows implementation of 28 states is on track,” said Angac.
Malualbaai, according to commissioner Angac, would not have been a county if it were not for Kiir’s order to expand the number of administrative units in the country.
“People should appreciate and congratulate his excellency the president of the republic, general Salva Kiir Mayardit, for responding to the demand of the people and created more states and now counties. If it were not because of the creation of more states, Malualbaai would not have been a county. It would have remained as a payam. Now it is upgraded to county, is this not a big achievement?” asked Angac.
He continued: “If anyone is still campaigning for cancellation of 28 states, tell them this not going to work. Those who are campaigning against the establishment order should work with the government to explore ways to implement the creation of more states. They should not waste time. Their campaign will not succeed. They want to dismantle our house and this cannot be entertained.”
