South Sudan’s former army chief Paul Malong Awan on Friday morning went to Juba International Airport to receive the body of his daughter who died in Nairobi following the devastating dormitory inferno recently.
General Paul Malong Awan who is being confined to his home in Juba for security reasons has been allowed to receive the body of his daughter at the airport and attend prayers in Juba.
Malong, dressed in black shirt to mourn the death of his daughter, was accompanied by a number of top government and army officials.
Government officials and family members told Radio Tamazuj on Friday morning Malong would attend the prayer services in Juba and the body will be taken to Aweil East where the body will be laid to rest without him.
