Malnutrition cases on the rise in Kapoeta

Kapoeta Hospital in Eastern Equatoria has witnessed an increase in the number of malnutrition cases, a medical official said.

Mustafa Lokoro, Medical Director of Kapoeta Hospital, told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the number of malnutrition cases admitted to the hospital has increased, saying they receive more than 10 malnourished children every day.

He revealed that UNICEF and other organizations plan to carry out a survey before establishment of a malnutrition center in Kapoeta town. Lokoro complained about acute shortages of live-saving drugs in the health facility.

The doctor called on health organizations to intervene quickly and provide medicines.
