Malaria and diarrhoea cases have risen significantly in Tambura County of Western Equatoria State, a medical doctor said.

Dr. Santino Deng, the Medical Director of Tambura Hospital, told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that they mostly register malaria and diarrhoea cases among the patients who visit the health facility.

According to the medical director, nearly 300 new malaria and diarrhoea patients visit the hospital on a daily basis.

Deng urged local residents to maintain hygiene by clearing grass in their houses, sweep compounds and avoid eating cold foods.

He further advised the population to strictly adhere to the ministry of health guidelines against the spread of the novel coronavirus.
