A pediatrician at Maridi Civil Hospital has reported a rise in malaria and anemia cases among children in Maridi state.

Dr. Reagan Taban told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that children are living in dire conditions due to malaria and anemia infections.

The medical doctor attributed the rising cases of malaria among children to heavy rains in the state.

He advised the mothers to feed their children with nutritious foods in order reduce anemia cases.

Raba Joseph, a mother of seven month old infant who spent 3 weeks in the hospital, said malaria and anemia cases are increasing among little children in the area.
