Malakia FC won with three goals to one in a match with Al-Rabita FC on Tuesday, 29 September, in the eighth week of the Juba Football Association (JFC) league.
Malakia FC controlled the pace throughout much of the game and succeeded in scoring the first goal of the match through midfielder Ibrahim Qassem. In the middle of the first half Malakia team captain Richard Justin managed to add a second goal from the penalty spot.
But Malakia team did not hold the two-goal lead – Al-Rabita was able to reduce the difference when midfielder Emmanuel Wani struck one in at the end of the first half of the game.
In the second half Malakia team again proved stronger than its opponent. They had plenty of opportunities to score and a third goal was struck by Nigerian player Joel.
This was Al-Rabita’s second loss this week after falling to Al-Tahrir FC, the last team in the league, on Sunday. For its part, Malakia with this win maintains a lead in the league with 35 points to widen the gap between it and Atlabara FC to 4 points.
Malakia team will play an important match against Atlabara team next week. This loss stuck Al-Rabita FC with 20 points in fifth place.
