Maiwut parliamentary team visits Pagak

A parliamentary delegation from Maiwut state on Wednesday visited Pagak, a former rebel headquarters captured by government forces in July.

A parliamentary delegation from Maiwut state on Wednesday visited Pagak, a former rebel headquarters captured by government forces in July.

Maiwut state speaker of parliament Chuol Dep Kiir Thowath led the delegation in which Brigadier General Tut Jock Hoth Ruot was the deputy team Leader.

The parliamentary speaker told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that the objective of the visit was to assess the general situation and to assure the population of the legislatures commitment to work with all communities for return of internally displaced and refugees to the area.

“The mission of our visit as parliamentary team was to affirm to the people and the leadership of the state our resolve to working together as one body to sensitize our people to return to their homes and participate in the national dialogue, reconciliation , forgiveness and  reject war,”  Chuol said.

  The state legislator commended the efforts of the governor for moving close to the people of the state.
