The governor of Maiwut state has issued a gubernatorial order establishing six additional counties in the state.
Governor Bol Ruach Rom listed the new counties as Malual Gahoth, Pamach, Jotome, Koma South, Thoch and Jekou.
The order number 01/2019 came into effect May 7th 2019.
The governor directed the state ministry of local government and law enforcement agency to work with local leaders and traditional authorities to implement the order.
He also tasked them with presenting names of nominees for contesting for commissioner jobs within a month of the order.
