A large number of local residents in various areas in South Sudan’s Imatong State are fleeing to neighboring Uganda due to security concerns, according to local residents.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, citizens in Agoro, Panykwara and Parajok in Ayachi and Magwi Counties, said people are fleeing to Uganda everyday due to the insecurity situation in the area.
Joseph Lagu, a local resident in Magwi County, said government soldiers killed two of his relatives last week when they were looking for an armed group that attack their military vehicle near the area. Lagu claimed that the local community decided to cross to Uganda because of rampant insecurity caused by the SPLA.
