‘Madad’ group distributes medicines to flood-stricken people in Damazin

The “Madad” youth group formed in Blue Nile State of Sudan disclosed that it has provided assistance in kind to more than 3,000 needy people in the state.

The chairman of the youths group Mohamed Abdullah confirmed to Radio Tamazuj that the packages were distributed to the flood-affected people at Babanusa, Mansura, and Shehid-Afendi areas who were evacuated to United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) camps in Damazin the capital of Blue Nile State.

“We have distributed more than 3,000 packages and breakfast to the affected people as well as to distribution of medicines to more than 56 people affected by water borne diseases due to the flood” Abdullah said.

A source also confirmed that a mobile clinic equipped with doctors and medicines is available within the camp. Blue Nile State was reportedly hit by flood and heavy rains resulted to uncontrollable damage among the citizens, large number of households were evacuated to the UNMISS camps in Damazin town.
