Herders among Blue Nile refugees living in South Sudan’s Maban County camps say their livestock are dying without veterinary medicine and vaccines.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Thursday, several herders in the Doro, Jamam, Jandrassa, and Yusif Batil camps expressed discontent about poor veterinary care due to shortage of medicines and lack of corrals for cattle.

They said the spread of flies and other insects might make cattle susceptible to infections.

The complaining herders called upon aid organizations to provide them with medicines and vaccines, saying they have been calling on the relevant authorities to help them but there has been no response so far.
