Lual Akoon’s family demands his release after three months in jail

The family of First Lieutenant Lual Akoon, the detained officer accused of supporting the country’s former army chief turned rebel leader Paul Malong, is demanding their son be released.

The family of First Lieutenant Lual Akoon, the detained officer accused of supporting the country’s former army chief turned rebel leader Paul Malong, is demanding their son be released.

Lual Akoon was arrested by National Security agents near Luri area in April for allegedly supporting Paul Malong.

His wife Nura Chawul Lom appealed to the relevant authorities through Radio Tamazuj on Thursday to reveal her husband’s whereabouts.

Nura pointed out that there has been no information about her husband’s health condition since he was arrested. She further said the family lost hope that Lual Akoon will be released.
