Community leaders and youth from Lou Ariik Mawien in the proposed Tonj state have issued a statement welcoming the appointment of Deng Majok as the first area commissioner.
Lou Ariik County was created as a new county in the proposed Tonj state by governor Akec Tong Aleu. Deng is one of the 19 county commissioners recently appointed by Akec.
“Lou Ariik community and the entire youth membership are thankful to President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Tonj State governor Akec Tong Aleu for the appointment of our beloved son, Deng Majok as the first commissioner of Lou Ariik County,” the Lou Ariik statement reads.
“We wish the president, governor and our new commissioner success in their administration and pledge our unshaking support,” they added.
