Residents of Lopit North County in Torit State are complaining about the poor state of roads, a lawmaker said.

Severino Maira Janos, an MP representing Lopit North in the state legislative assembly, told Radio Tamazuj last week that the current bad condition of roads had affected the movement and transportation of goods and services during this rainy season.

He blamed state authorities for what he termed as “poor planning”.

Separately, Janos said the county is also facing severe shortages of teachers.

He further said they petitioned the governor for closing the state assembly, but the national assembly has not yet responded to their grievances.

The state assembly was not immediately available to comment.
