A 34-year-old driver identified as David Ulang died when his vehicle overturned along the Magwi-Abara road on Saturday.
The deceased was reportedly on his way to Abara Village to pick up the family of his Ugandan boss.
Local, authorities said Ulang died at the Magwi Hospital, hours after the accident.
Magwi County Traffic Police Lt Jackson Ongie told Radio Tamazuj on Saturday evening that the accident occurred at around 10:30am.
He said the deceased was alone in the ill-fated vehicle.
“This morning at around 10:30am, a Noah vehicle registration Number SSD 694PA, overturned on the Magwi – Abara road. The driver was alone and was rushed to hospital unconscious, but after some hours, he passed away,” Ongie explained.
An eyewitness, John Abwonga, said the vehicle rolled several times, tossing the driver out.
The In-charge at the Magwi County Hospital, Lawrence Otim, said the injured driver died while on oxygen at the facility.
He said the deceased had sustained severe injuries on his head, neck and the abdomen.
