Logistical challenges have hindered vaccination of cattle in South Sudan’s Aweil State, a top government official said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, Peter Jok Dut, Director General of the Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries, said that the Arab nomadic tribes from Sudan had come with their cattle in the area but no vaccination took place.
He pointed out that a cattle vaccination exercise targeting cattle from those that have come from seasonal grazing from Sudan was supposed to take place.
“We have the vaccines, but we need help. We need transport and fuel,” he said.
