The Active Youth Agency (AYA), a national Non-Governmental Organization in Mundri East County of Western Equatoria State says two of its staff have been abducted and demand their immediate release.

The Executive Director of AYA, Repent Woroh, said Emmanuel Ginaba and Yasir Mamur were abducted by unknown gunmen in Minga Payam on July 5, 2022.

“We have two staffs who are implementing our project in Mundri East County, they were abducted on the 5th of July without our notice and we only heard about it this week,” Woro said.

He adds that it was not clear why the two were abducted but he mentioned that there is a coordinated approach to handle the matter.

“For us we are humanitarian, we don’t take sides. We deliver services to the community, we don’t know the reason for their detention but we are coordinating with UN agencies and RRC so that their condition can be well,” he stated.

Woroh adds, “We are requesting that let them release those boys so that they carry out their work because these are the children who will build this country.”

Efforts to reach the county authorities for comment were unsuccessful.
