The heads of the native administration in the Sudanese West Kordofan State on Sunday strongly rejected a government proposal to dissolve the entire state and annex different parts to Northern and South Kordofan states.
Addressing the press after meeting the minister of Federal Governance Chamber, Faisal Hassan Ibrahim, the civil leaders pledged to work together to end ethnic conflicts in the area, that prompted the proposal.
Sudanese officials at the Ministry of Federal Governance recently called for the dissolution of West Kordofan state saying it is one of the largest states in Sudan experiencing frequent interethnic conflicts that have become difficult to manage.
