The El Geneina Teaching Hospital in Sudan’s West Darfur State has received accommodation materials and medical equipment from the Incidents Street Initiative.
The bedsheets, mattresses, medical equipment and laboratory supplies were presented on Wednesday and received by the El Geneina Hospital Medical Director, Dr Musa’ab Abdulhadi. Also present were the directors of the Central Laboratory, the Blood Bank, and the Minor Surgery Unit.
“The Incidents Street Initiative has consistently supported our hospital, and today they have provided mattresses, medical and laboratory equipment for the Central Laboratory, Blood Bank, Accident Hospital, Incident Laboratory, the Central Laboratory, and Minor Surgery Unit,” Dr Abdulhadi told Radio Tamazuj.
He described the support as “timely,” especially as the hospital approached the autumn season, anticipating an increase in patients, and appealed for further support.
Dr Abdulhadi praised the Initiative as a friendly supporter of the El Geneina Hospital, recognizing its quick response to needs.
A member of the Incidents Street Initiative, Muna El-Sadiq, pledged continued support to the hospital.
Mashair Abdelmajeed, the Director of the Central Laboratory, expressed gratitude to the Initiative for standing with the hospital and addressing the shortages during the post-war period.
She added: “The Initiative filled gaps in difficult conditions and solved many problems in the Central Laboratory, Blood Bank, and Accidents. Today, they initiated and supported us; we need this support and urge them for more.”
