Authorities in South Sudan’s Northern Liech State launched a mass livestock vaccination exercise last week in greater Bul Counties and it is expected to continue until most areas are covered.
Bul South Commissioner Kuichiang Kuol Gau told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that about 75,890 cattle in the counties of Greater Mayom have already been vaccinated in the on-going exercise.
Kuol said the exercise will reduce the incidence of different diseases facing in the region, while urging the communities to avail their livestock for the free exercise.
According to him, the campaign is sponsored by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Last August, the national government approved some 2 billion SSPs for livestock vaccination across the country.
