Little rain, insecurity affecting West Kordofan farming

Farmers and pastoralists from Lagawa Locality in West Kordofan are warning that little rainfall and insecurity in the region are affecting this year's agricultural season, which might result in food insecurity.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, residents of Sanot village said their locality is running out of food reserves and it lacks pastures for the grazing of cattle.

“Cultivation has not started yet because of of lack of rain. We are accustomed to cultivate early, but this year the there is a shortage of rain,” a source said.
