A lightning strike killed at least two children and injured two people in Yirol East County of South Sudan’s Lakes State.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, Yirol East County Commissioner Manyang Luk Lueth said the unfortunate incident happened in Malek Payam on Tuesday.
He said the victims were two and three-year-old children.
“Yes, we have only two survivors of that lightning strike incident,” he added.
Luk sent his condolences to the victims’ families and said this was a natural accident without any human involvement.
He adds that a similar strike took killed one person five years ago in the Panhom area of his county.
