Lawyers for Blue Nile SPLM prisoners appeal for release

The legal body for the defense of SPLM prisoners from Blue Nile submitted a request to the Attorney General to put pressure on the investigating committee to transfer the papers of the defendants to the judiciary.

A member for the legal body, lawyer Islam Adam, said that the defendants have been distributed to prisons in Sinja, Sennar and Damazin, adding that the listed suspects have spent more than a year in waiting after they were investigated.

He also stated that the list of prisoners included minors, illiterates, and inmates who have died in prison. Islam considered that the failure to submit the prisoners to court is contrary to the principles of justice, fairness and the principles of litigation and the Bill of rights provided for in the Constitution.
