Latjor’s parliament elects speaker and deputy speaker

Members of Latjor’s legislative assembly have recently elected Tut Simon Kor as their new speaker during a voting exercise in Juba.

The state lawmakers also elected Panon Dieu Gach as the new deputy speaker who will help Mr. Kor in conducting the house’s business.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, Governor James Duer Chuol thanked President Kiir and first deputy Taban Deng Gai for their willingness to support the transportation process of all local residents who are living in UN sites to their areas of origin.

Latjor State is one of the states which came into existence after President Salva Kiir issued an order in October 2015.
