Authorities in South Sudan’s Boma State said they have started surveying land located within the capital, Pibor.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, the state governor David Yau Yau said the survey started on Saturday with support from the locals.
He said the first phase of the survey started with land in Pibor, adding that surveying land in the rest of the counties would follow.
A total of SSP 25 million, Yau Yau said, was collected as self-support from citizens keen to ensure the main streets of Pibor are surveyed.
A delegation of engineers has come to Boma to complete the first part of the land survey process in the state capital, he said.
Separately, the governor said they managed to hand over about 25 children, who were abducted for a one year period, to their families.
He urged international and national NGOs to engage youth in vocational training to reduce cattle rustling and child abduction crimes.
