South Sudan’s former minister of agriculture Lam Akol who formed a new faction called the National Democratic Movement says President Salva Kiir and armed opposition leader Riek Machar do not have a clear vision to bring change in the country.
In an interview with Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, Lam Akol accused President Kiir and his former deputy Riek Machar of making serious mistakes since the formation of the semi-autonomous government of Southern Sudan in 2005.
“If you don’t have a clear vision you cannot achieve any goal, its be frank, the government that existed in South Sudan worked for eight years, so Salva Kiir and Riek Machar were responsible for the mistakes during that time,” said Akol.
Akol, who declared war against Kiir government recently, urged the SPLM-IO leader Machar to admit his mistakes before trying to find solutions to the ongoing political crisis in South Sudan.
Earlier this week, Akol said he will ally with the other armed groups to overthrow Kiir government until the people of South Sudan have peace.
