Lagawa youth volunteers clean hospital grounds and market

Youth volunteers have cleaned the hospital grounds and market in Lagawa, a government-controlled town in South Kordofan which lies beneath the western Nuba Mountains. A number of citizens applauded the efforts made by the newly-formed Lagawa Youth Group in the Lagawa County.

In interviews with Radio Tamazuj, citizens stated that the efforts taken by the youth group have been greatly welcomed and praised by the citizens of the county, especially after the cleaning campaigns the group organized in Lagawa Hospital whose grounds were covered by weeds that provided homes to mosquitoes and other insects in light of negligence by the hospital administration.

The citizens also praised the move made by the group in cleaning the roads and the mosque of Lagawa market. One of the citizens of Lagawa asserted that although the county has other civil society groups, it has never witnessed any work like the work accomplished by the Lagawa Youth Group.
