Residents of the Lagawa locality in West Kordofan have continued a sit-in strike this week over the lack of basic services, including drinking water, electricity and decent road conditions.

Hundreds of participating residents said they won’t call off the already-week-long strike unless the government pledges some improvements.

They warned that any attempt by the police to disrupt the strike might result in violence and possible casualties.
