Lack of water and services in Ezo County, Western Equatoria

The Commissioner of Ezo County in South Sudan’s Western Equatoria State says there is lack of water and basic services in different parts of the county.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on the regular program With the Commissioner, Commissioner Luciano Bakinde said different parts of his county are facing shortages of drinking water due to lack of water resources.

He stated that they have reported the issue to the state authorities but they are not responding quickly.

The commissioner also said there is lack of school books and materials due to the recent fighting between the army and local armed groups which led to the destruction of many schools and government institutions.

“There is lack of school books because some of the schools were destroyed during the fighting in the area,” said Bakinde.

He pointed out that security situation is stable, calling on the government to provide basic services in his county especially water and school books.
