The police in Kuajok town of South Sudan's Warrap State have apprehended three people suspected to have been involved in the death of a 27-year-old man on Monday.
The State Director of Criminal and Investigation Brigadier General Chol Deng Kuol said the three suspects include two Ugandans and one South Sudanese.
"On date 8 August 2021 at 8:00 pm, electric power which struck a 27-year-old man identified as Longar Deng and he was rushed to hospital where the medical doctor injected him with quinine in the drip and eventually he died," he said. "After medical examination, it is confirmed that electricity struck the left hand of Late Longar Deng and CID personnel apprehended two Ugandans Kayau Badi Andrew, John Bosco who owned generator and Dr. David Madut Mawien who injected the late Longar without investigating the cause of shock."
Late Longar's relative Lual Aguek told Radio Tamazuj that Longar, an only son, was a student at the University of Juba and ran a charging business at the Kuajok market which sustained him and his family.
Authorities say a young boy was also struck by electricity in July and died in hospital.
