Firearms have been banned from Kuajok town to curb crime in the region, a local government official told Radio Tamazuj.

John Akol Akol Ngor instructed all organized forces to keep their guns indoors except for those on government duty. Those coming to Kuajok town should leave their guns at different checkpoints before entering in the city, the major said.

In April, Gogrial authorities launched a joint firearms search that found 19 rifles, 5 pistols and 1 hand grenade.
